About Dent Methods

Derek, owner/technician of Dent Methods, entered the paintless dent repair (PDR) industry at age 17 when a hailstorm hit the Twin Cities area. During this storm, he trained in an essential part of dent repair—the removal and installation of trim and body panels that allow PDR technicians to access and repair dents. During this time, he met technicians from all over the country who came to the Twin Cities to repair hail-damaged vehicles. He became inspired to enter the industry full-time.

In 2011, Derek started formal training as a technician in paintless dent repair (PDR). Once properly trained and prepared, he traveled to hailstorms across the United States, Europe, and Africa. From Europe’s rigorous quality control standards to facing the most severely hail-damaged vehicles in South Africa, Derek worked in body shops, dealerships, and assembly plants where brand-new hail-damaged vehicles needed to be repaired to perfect spec for shipment worldwide. This experience developed and honed his PDR skills, lending to his proficiency in the trade.

When a hailstorm hit the Twin Cities in 2022, Derek opened the Dent Methods shop in Saint Paul. Since then, the Twin Cities has experienced multiple hailstorms, and Dent Methods has continued to work alongside the community to restore hail-damaged vehicles, in addition to taking on dent and door ding repairs. We have fostered relationships with customers across the Twin Cities and grown a loyal customer base. We remain excited to bring the people of Saint Paul and the Greater Twin Cities area our years of expertise and look forward to many, many more.
