FAQ
How does Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) work?
At Dent Methods, we used specialized processes to assess and repair your vehicle. First, we look at your vehicle with high-tech LED lights to determine our method of repair, including how we will access each dent and the type of tools required for the job. From there, our trained technicians at Dent Methods push, pull, and shape dents back to the vehicle’s original condition, maintaining the integrity of the manufacturer’s factory finish.
What are the advantages of Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) over traditional body shop work?
Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is typically more affordable than traditional bodywork and requires less time to complete, so you can get your vehicle back on the road sooner. Most importantly, PDR preserves your vehicle’s factory finish and structural integrity, something traditional bodywork may compromise.
How long does Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) take?
It depends on the damage, but the PDR process can take from an hour or two or a small dent and up to a week for hail damage.
My car was hailed on during a recent storm…what do I do now?
The occurrence of hail has been increasing in the Twin Cities area in the past few years. Good news is that full coverage insurance will cover hail repair! The first step after a storm is to file a claim with your insurance company. At Dent Methods, we have over 15 years of experience working with insurance companies and we’re happy to help you through the process.
Will making an insurance claim for hail damage increase my premium?
Nope! Hail claims are considered an “act of nature” and will not increase your insurance premium directly, since no one is at fault. Occasionally, insurance companies will raise all their customers’ premiums across the board (whether you’ve made a claim or not) after a stormy season.
I found a dent on my car! What do I do?
Bad luck! You can text Dent Methods any time for an estimate for repair at 651-472-1936, or email us at info@dentmethods.com. We ask that you provide:
- 3-4 photos of the dent (and/or even a video for more accuracy!),
- Location of the dent (i.e. passenger door, fender, etc.)
- Year/make/model of the vehicle
- Your full name
- Your email address
My car was damaged in an accident or has damage much larger than a door ding. What do I do?
Follow the steps above for an estimate of repairs. We will assess the damage to determine if the repair can be made with PDR or if it needs to be repaired by conventional means with an auto body shop. At Dent Methods, we work with insurance companies on larger PDR repairs as well!
How can I pay for the repair?
Hail damage is typically covered by insurance payment. For dents and insurance deductibles, we accept cash, check, or credit for payment.
Can Dent Methods repair aluminum body panels?
Yes! At Dent Methods, we repair all body finishes, including aluminum, steel, and high strength steel.
Do dents come back?
No. The paintless dent repair process restores the body of your vehicle back to the factory finish without stretching the metal or affecting the integrity of the panel.
Do you offer mobile service?
We can come to your house or place of business to repair most dents and dings. More extensive damage, including hail, must be repaired at the shop.
